Painting is silent poetry, and poetry is painting that speaks. Simonides

Lori Pitten Jenkins

''My journey began in 2005 when I took a watercolor class at our local museum. To say I was hooked is a complete understatement. Although I have just begun my watercolor adventure, I did graduate with a studio art degree from Florida State University. I enjoy painting realistically using bold colors and drama. I want my paintings to grab your attention immediately. I like to intensify the use of color and contrast, but the bottom line is that I paint what I see. I am not drawn to one thing in particular. I just paint whatever inspires me at the time. I started to enter shows and sell my work as an experiment in justifying my passion. Now these passions have transformed me.

I received my signature status into Florida and Southern Watercolor Societies in 2009. ''
