Elena Iwanowa

Elena Ivanova was born on 01.01.1979 in Dresden (Germany). He lives and works in Minsk, Belarus. In the years 1998 - 2004 studied painting at the Belarusian State Academy of Fine Arts in Minsk. Previously, she graduated from College of Fine Arts in Minsk (1994-1998). Since 2005, a member of the painting section of the Belarusian Union of Artists. Since 1997 he has actively participated in international exhibitions, competitions and festivals in Belarus, Poland, Lithuania, Slovenia.He has recorded more than 20 exhibitions, three open-air International (Poland, Lithuania and Latvia), was 5-fold participant in the International Festival of Theatre and Arts Tczew EVENTS - Europe in the years 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2006.

Erik van Ommen (1956) graduated in 1983 from Minerva, the Academy of Fine Arts in Groningen. His work is figurative and made in the tradition of the Dutch realists.
His paintings, watercolours, etchings, statues en drawings show us that for him Art and Nature are closely related.
"As an artist I see the need to put my energy in the conservation of those things that are inspiring me".

He has exhibited his paintings and drawings in museums and galleries in many countries. Erik is one of the founders of the Artist for Nature Foundation.
He is used to working in the field and for that purpose he has travelled to different parts of the world. As he says: the world is my studio.

He has published 25 books in Holland, one in Japan, one in Germany and one in Georgia. Since 2000 he has been painting and drawing for a series of books about one bird:
1. De bijeneters van Harkstede - 2000.
About a pair of bee-eaters breeding near his house.
2. De dwergganzen van Anjum - 2002.
About the lesser-white fronted geese in Holland and Sweden.
3. The kiekendieven van het Oldambt - 2004.
About the Montagu's harrier in Holland and its migration to West-Africa.
4. De zwaluwen van Singraven - 2006.
About a barn swallow breeding in Holland and migrating to Namibia in the south of Africa.

He is now working on the fifth book of this series, a book called De kluten van Breebaart. This book is about the avocet and its migration to the southwest of Europe. It will be published in the autumn of 2008. For these books he is working together with Dutch nature-organisations like Birdlife Holland.

Erik van Ommen gives workshops on "drawing birds" all over Europe and is involved in the organisation of the Art Marquee at the Birdfair in Holland.
He lives with his wife Wilma in Groningen, in the north of The Netherlands.
