Painting is silent poetry, and poetry is painting that speaks. Simonides

Anita Janosova

''Anita Janosova's paintings are of brightly lit figures set against dark backgrounds. The figures are all life-size and range in subject from a harsh, energized self-portrait at an easel, to an eerily enigmatic painting of a single seated figure with back turned and the cast shadow of a wolf's head. In each case the figure is handled with great accuracy, but the setting is purposefully left vague to enhance the drama.''
