Painting is silent poetry, and poetry is painting that speaks. Simonides

Sylvie Daigneault

Multi-talented Sylvie Daigneault studied painting at Montreal's Les Ecoles des Beaux Arts and also was a principal dancer of Le Groupe de la Nouvelle Aire. Sylvie's lyrical imagery beautifully combines the elegance of her drawing and dance disciplines. Along with her husband, fellow illustrator Doug Panton, Sylvie settled in Toronto to build her illustration career. With colored pencil as the medium of choice, Sylvie is especially proud of her illustrations for the Royal Canadian Mint, The National Ballet of Canada, and the MTA in NYC. In addition to seeing her work in print, Sylvie has enjoyed displaying her batik designs on silk, and exhibiting her ink drawings, oils and colored pencil artwork.
