Painting is silent poetry, and poetry is painting that speaks. Simonides

Leandro M Velasco

"I was born in Columbia, South America and I arrived in New York City on November 23, 1963, the same day President Kennedy was assassinated. My dream was to be a working artist and live off the proceeds from my paintings.
It was very difficult to be accepted, so I took a job designing stained glass windows, mosaics and sculptures and I painted in my personal time. Now, for many years, I am able to concentrate totally on my painting.
I live on a farm in upstate New York and my studio is in a converted barn, along with my gallery. It is a great space to exhibit my paintings to prospective buyers. I have exhibited in this country and overseas, with shows in Paris, London, Venice, Belgium, Japan, and South America. My paintings always have a touch of humor."
