Painting is silent poetry, and poetry is painting that speaks. Simonides

Irene Georgopoulou

I am basically a still life and floral painter working in oils and pastels. I find great delight painting a close-up of a flower, capturing details as precisely as I can and combining light and dark flavoring with brilliant color.
I am a Signature member of Pastel Society of America, member of International Guild of Realism and of Pastel Guild of Europe.

Irene Georgopoulou was born in 1964 in Athens, Greece. She started painting in 2006 and she is self-taught. Her painting techniques and methods have evolved in the last 3 years and she is looking forward to further growth and experimentation.

Despite her late start in painting she is a member of the International Guild of Realism and she was a finalist in the April/May 2009 edition of International Artist Magazine flowers and gardens competition.
