Jacqui Grantford

Jacqueline Grantford is a well-known artist, childrens’ author/book illustrator and educator, with 12 published books.
‘Simply Drawing’ a book and DVD was recently released, and she also a website ‘Break A Lead’ that has monthly vodcasts on how to draw, in which she demonstrates a variety of drawing techniques. This can be viewed at
She also does some radio announcing for the Melbourne radio station 3MBS. Every Saturday she co-presents a show called ‘Classically Kids’ from 8am to 9am, as well as regularly broadcasting 'The Weekly Score' on Saturdays 10am to 12pm. 3MBS can be heard on 103.5 fm, or for those interstate or overseas it can be streamed over the internet.

Jacqueline Grantford has been a finalist in the Corangamarah Art Prize – con.ceit in 2011, Mortimore Art Prize in 2011 and 2010, the Waverley Art Prize in 2010, Black Swan Portrait Prize in 2008, 2009,and 2011 the Mariners Seafarer’s Award 2009, and has twice won the People's Choice for the Victorian Hidden Faces of the Archibald.
This year she was a semi-finalist in the Charlatan Ink Art Prize. One hundred semi-finalists from around the world were chosen.
‘A True Person’, written by Gabian Marin and illustrated by Jacqui was one of the 250 outstanding new international books for children and young adults that have been selected for The White Ravens 2008. The White Raven label is given to books that deserve worldwide attention because of their exceptional and often innovative artistic and literary style and design.

Both ‘A true Person’, ‘Squeezy Cuddle Dangly legs’ and Mollie’s Memory Jar’ have been recommended books with the Family therapists Award.
