Painting is silent poetry, and poetry is painting that speaks. Simonides

Jennifer Gennari

Jennifer Gennari was born in Long Island, New York in 1983. She studied art independently through her life until she was accepted to the Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota Florida in 2001.
She then graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Art and started a career illustrating for Hallmark Cards in Kansas City Missouri. After two years of employment there she left to further pursue her interest in classical painting at the Florence Academy of Art. Upon acceptance, Jennifer uprooted herself from the United States to embark on a three year drawing/painting program directed by Daniel Graves.
Jennifer graduated from Florence Academy in 2011 and has since moved back to New York where she continues to paint, teach, and became a member of New York’s Salmagundi Club.

"I am very interested in a person’s internal struggles. Emotions we hide, and the transparencies of the masks we wear. We lie to the world burying our worries and anxieties, hoping that no one will discover what we really are. My work is designed to engage the viewer with the subject intimately, breaking down the mask and allowing access to the secrets we hold deep inside us."
