Painting is silent poetry, and poetry is painting that speaks. Simonides

April Jarocka

Photorealist working in paint, coloured pencil

April is a self taught artist who is on her way to becoming an established still life painter and who has been described as collectable.
Her detailed work started down on the Irish seashore with studies of stones which are her signature subject to paint. In 2011 April took some time off to paint more edible subject matter such as chocolate. Driven in all her work to highlight the detail of mundane objects an invitation in much of April's detailed work asks us to look a little closer at the sort of things we might otherwise pay no attention to.
