Juan Manuel Travieso

Juan Manuel Travieso was born in Havana, Cuba on May 11, 1987. He came to the United States at the age of ten. He went from elementary school to middle school discovering visual arts as a sort of hobby. Juan developed a fervent interest in art, which grew when he discovered that his talent flourished as he continued to experiment with it. As a result, he started to audition for magnet schools. Options came knocking on the door, but when receiving his acceptance letter from New World School of the Arts a choice was made due to its prestigious reputation. While at New World for four years he received many prestigious awards in all of the challenges that were presented. Moreover, Juan was accepted to eight of the most prestigious art colleges in the nation. Art Center College of Design, in California, happened to be his number one choice. After three years, he graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Illustration. Returning home to Miami has been an adventure for this young artist. Since his comeback he has been part of several successful exhibitions including Coast to Coast at the Coconut Grove Arts Festival Gallery also Works On Paper at the Artseen Gallery at Wynwood was a sold out accomplishment. Juan now is an MFA student at The Museum School of Fine Arts in Boston, MA. Juan is very enthusiastic about his profession and future plans.
