Originally from the Ukraine port city Odessa, Inga Loyeva immigrated to Florida with her family at the age
of ten. Since then Loyeva has come back to Europe time and time again traveling around to soak in western
tradition, as well as, to observe contemporary currents. After receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts from New
World School of the Arts in Miami, Loyeva came to Italy to study Old Masters’ painting techniques and
completed a three year painting program under the direction of Michael John Angel. Loyeva continues to live
in Florence, Italy teaching drawing and artistic anatomy at the Angel Academy of Art and working on
creative projects in her studio.
Through her painting practice, Inga Loyeva attempts to subvert anxieties by transforming them into positive
images and emotions. Sometimes she creates whimsical micro landscapes inspired by the vast Scandinavian
forest. At other times, she strives to design a simple yet elegant series using the female as a protagonist
with an undertone of domestic conservation. Regardless of where her imagination takes her, Loyeva always
strives to put forth beauty and project a positive undercurrent into everything she creates.
