Iris Frederix - Iris Divina Frederix

Iris Divina Frederix was born in 1981 in Schimmert (Netherlands).
She studied at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, section "Autonomous Art", Department of Painting, and graduated there in 2004.

Human drama and comedy are the primary source of inspiration for her work.
The urge to submerge herself thoroughly into her chosen subject usually results in a series of particular works.
Large canvasses, clear colours or atmospheric pictures; the centre of attention is always the human being or his palpable presence.

In addition, Iris paints portraits (also by commission) and creates colour sketches, that due to their spontaneousness are compelling works in their own right.
