Lisa King is a self taught artist based in Adelaide, South Australia. Her work crosses over various mediums - oil, acrylic and charcoal. Lisa’s passion is portraiture and characters. Her works range from canvas to large-scale mural work, with a gravitation to romance, dark personality, indie culture, pop influence and escapism. Her work has been labeled ‘colorfully angelic yet seemingly dark.’
After 3 years of creating, managing, and curating Paperhorse Studios ARI in Adelaide, South Australia (2007-2010), Lisa changed direction from multi-disciplined designer to focus on her painting career professionally. Fast forward to 2013 and Lisa King is getting recognition throughout the Australian capitals. She is currently working on various projects including live art performance, workshop participation and urban scape mural work and exhibitions; which include over 25 solo and group shows in the past 3 years. She maintains a unique approach to her exhibitions with large scale walls, installation and strongly themed environments in which her fanciful society exists. Lisa hopes to spend part of 2013 - 14 traveling throughout South East Asia and India on a working holiday where she will primarily be focusing her energy on large scale street art and various volunteer community projects.
