

DAI Ping Jun was born in Hunan in 1976.
Regarded as one of the rising star in contemporary Chinese art scene, DAI has quickly established his reputation with his portraiture of young noble ladies of Qing Dynasty. His subjects, all elaborately dressed, are so beautiful that they appear unreal, reminding one of meticulously crafted dolls.
Highly versatile, DAI pushes the limits of oriental beauty in his creations. He employs a large proportion of space as backdrop; drawing the audience directly to his subjects, and further enhancing and timeless quality of his extraordinary portraits.
