Damien Hunin

Damien Hunin

Damien Hunin was born in Belgium, close to the French border, in 1969. After finishing high school in Belgium, Damien wanted to attend the Art Academy. However, the reality was he could not afford these studies, so he was forced to give up this plan. Instead, Damien picked up a Foreign Trade study. In his spare time, he continued to sketch, draw and develop his technique. By learning from every mistake, Damien managed to improve his skills and allow his natural ability to shine through.

Damien has achieved his own success in art with no formal training. He has a "raw talent" for drawing and sketching, which truly shows in his work. His technique focuses on using light and shadow effects in his work to bring it to life and make it feel real. This technique brings beautiful results in drawings of the human body, the skin and nudity in bigger dimensions. Today, he is still creating and trying to let the public discover the fascination he feels for black and white, shadow and light which sculpt bodies in his drawings. He wants his drawings to breathe sensuality, softness and abandonment to create a harmonious whole, ideally symbolized by the female body.

He mainly works with black pencil (black lead, black stone and charcoal), but occasionally he utilizes coloring pencils, markers, or red chalk, a technique that he believes perfectly suits the feminine form.
