Dean Mitchell is recognized as one of the finest painters in America. His themes are universal ones of life, death, family connections, psychological and spiritual revelations. Mitchell received a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Honorary Masters Degree from Columbus College of Art and Design, Columbus, Ohio. The artist states, "I have inherited a passion for the simple things of life - in this we retain the essence of time and the true meaning of life." His paintings reflect a personal relationship with the canvas, and his carefully selected subject matter conveys that personal intent. He is able to breathe life and soul into his work and is equally well known for his figurative works, landscapes and still-life paintings. In addition to his watercolor paintings, Mitchell is accomplished in other mediums including egg tempera, oil and pastel.
