''Since he was a child he has always drawn, whenever he had the opportunity to find a pencil and paper, he would make sketches. He would try and copy the Old Masters and anything he saw around him – objects, pictures just really anything he could lay his eyes on .Through numerous set backs, his strong will to pursue his painting career, has never left him. This was always his goal, to become a great painter, wanting to show his talent to the world, becoming a colleague of so many artists he had admired throughout his youth. No one in his family could ever have predicted such a talent and that he should now be achieving such acclaim.
After seven years of painting classes at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kiev, Ukraine, Dmitriy Sevryukov looked for new horizons, new challenges and found private guidance in the atelier of Anatoly Bezbatko. His compositions display the technical gifts of the Masters yet incorporate a fresh approach in presentation and selection of subjects. He has no wish to ‘trick’ the viewer into believing they are viewing an ‘old’ master – he is creating contemporary paintings in the twenty - first century. ''
