

Ekaterina Panikanova was born in Saint Petersburg in 1975.
Actually she lives and works between her hometown and Rome – her atelier is inside Hermitage Museum. She had attended Art school in Saint Petersburg, than she graduated at Fine Art Academy in Monumental painting. Among her exhibitions we can remember: 2001, Young Russian artists, Moscow; 2002, Young artists, collective exhibition, Manezh Palace, Saint Petersburg; personal exhibition, Heritage, Saint Petersburg; 2003, Okhta Gallery, Saint Petersburg; personal exhibition, Delta Gallery, Saint Petersburg; 2004, Roman holiday, personal exhibition, Art Academy, Saint Petersburg; 2005, Tretyakov Gallery, collective exhibition, Moscow; Brodsky Museum, collective exhibition, Saint Petersburg; 2006, Polyrealism Art Show, Art league, Saint Petersburg; 2007, Russian Youth, collective exhibition, Moscow. In 2002 she carried out a work entitled Discovery and Proof of the true cross, in Kourk cathedral in Russia, between 2001 and 2004 she had been teaching at Design University in Saint Petersburg, in 2003 she has painted portraits regarding illustrious men, committed by Konstantinovskij Palace in Strelna and showed in Ethnographic Museum of the city; finally, in 2006, she has decorated by fresco painting the private Museum in Gattina, near by Saint Petersburg. Since 2003 every year she takes part to annual festival Avant Garde and in 2006 she founded a young Russian artists group called Polyrealism.
