Charcoal portraits

My name is Ellen Milinich, nee Bibler, and I live in Visalia, California. I grew up in beautiful Monterey where my father taught Art at the local college and created "Little Man on Campus" cartoons. I am a late bloomer in my art career. Although I would periodically draw portraits, it wasn't until my children were grown did I have an "a-ha" moment and realize this is a God-given talent which I was to develop. Strangely, it is spiritually fulfilling and has taken me on an exciting path of self-discovery. It has developed into a sustaining passion.

Most of my artistic skills I attribute to being born with and to spending my childhood surrounded with Art books, magazines, paint brushes, paints, and creative people. I discovered my favorite media is charcoal and then pastels. My skills have matured and evolved into my own style. Most of my commissioned portraits are from word of mouth. When I deliver a finished portrait andit brings tears to their eyes, it makes me happy because I know they have been spiritually moved.
