Omar Ortiz
"Was born in 1977 at Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico where he still resides. Since he was a boy had a lot of interest for drawing and illustration. He studied for a degree in Graphic Design at college, where learned different techniques such as hand drawing, pastel, charcoal, water color, acrylic and aerograph. When finished college he decided to become a painting artist. In year 2002 attended his first oil paint with artist Carmen Alarcón, seeing her as his main plastic arts teacher. Ortiz currently works with oil painting because to him it's the noblest technique.
A minimalistic - hyperrealism painting where the white colors predominate, the human body and a magical fabric game, characterize their work.
Omar Ortiz uses human body as main element in its work, the relation between this one and its manifestation not only is natural, but inevitable. The spectator is front to personages with certain characteristics and reacts according to their circumstance. "From here, always I say that the painting surprised me, touched me and consequently captivated me".
From Omar's painting becomes attractive the way he makes out of context the simplicity of the objects, another characteristic of its work is the possibility that offers us to use the own images, equipping them with an artistic language, like other people's, or simply letting us to observe them and reuse them in a speculative collage, making an image recycling as independent expressive tool of the intrinsic quality of the work; perhaps because they seize an own narrative, they act like intimate pieces, catched in themselves, outside space and context.
