Victoria Herrera


Victoria E. Herrera was born in Panama in 1964. After attending Moore College of Art, she migrated to the United States where she has resided since 1989. Victoria paints from her studio in Montclair, NJ and continues studying art under the tutelage of Jacob Collins at the Grand Central Academy in NY.






Artista Panameña, nace en diciembre de 1964. Inicia sus estudios a la edad de 15 años. Luego de atender Moore College of Art en Philadelphia, emigra a los Estados Unidos donde reside desde 1989. Victoria continua sus estudios bajo el tutelaje de Jacob Collins en NY. 

”Mis obras hablan del espíritu del ser humano, de la naturaleza, y de la belleza etérea e impalpable que existe en todo lo que nos rodea”. 

Conocida por sus grandes hibiscus sumergidos en luces y sombras, y a través de sus brochazos sutilmente restringidos, Victoria nos invita a descubrir una nueva realidad y lo que para ella significa la verdadera riqueza de la experiencia humana.

Lucio López Cansuet, “Kansuet” is born in 1974 in Carti Yandub, one of the many islands on the Archipelago of the Kuna Yala territory in Panama. Born with an innate talent for Art, he starts his studies in Kuna Yala, but decided to move to Panama City in the year 2000. He enters the Bellas Artes Academy of Arts, where he graduated in 2006.














Semillas al Viento (Seeds to the Wind ) features a captivating selection of Kansuet’s unforgettable and mesmerizing paintings. Lucio Kansuet’s art reclaims for us the wonders of the seventh day, when a pure and pristine world was put in human hands. It revives that strange and ever-present thirst for innocence and the longing for an untouched, intimate and eternal paradise that is common to most cultures, portrayed in the Western world in the biblical story of Eden Lost, as well as in the mythic Golden Age of Greek tradition.

More than a specific geographic place, humanity’s collective memory seems to hold reminiscences of a state of grace in which the relationship with nature was imbued with equilibrium, respect and harmony. For us, the banished sons of Eve, the product of asphalt and steel, the relationship with the natural environment can only be experienced as something distant, a yearning, a utopia. It is for this reason that Kansuet’s paintings reveal a rare emotional and existential dimension: Kansuet has not left paradise, Kansuet lives within it.

In his paintings, there is evidence of a deep veneration for nature and for that combination of heavenliness and earthiness that is so alive in his people’s legendary poems, passed down by the ancestors of his race, which speak of our species’ initial brotherhood with beasts and plants, in vivid contrast with the tyrannical dominion over nature that characterizes our modern societies.

The workings of an ancestral, inherited memory allow Lucio Kansuet to turn, without impositions, to the source of that symbiotic relationship with the Earth which still seems to be one of life’s ideals, even in this skeptic postmodern era, which takes for granted that great utopias are impossible. "El mundo de las ideas es muy complejo, por eso para mí, enfrentarme a un lienzo en blanco, es quizás el momento más sublime de la creación, es el momento en que la idea construida se transforma en una realidad pictórica, capaz de transmitir toda la fuerza emotiva de su creador."



Olga Sinclair was born in the city of Panama in 1957. She started painting's studies with her father, the painter Alfredo Sinclair, and at the age of 14 participated for the first time in a collective exhibition amongst professional painters.

In 1976 she went to the Academy of Applied Arts in Madrid, Spain, to study. There she also took three years of classic art drawing lessons at the Arjona Studio.
Back in Panama, she obtained her BA-degree in Interior Design in 1984. At the same time she took engraving lessons in Giangranddi studio. Then she continued her studies in London for another two years.

In 1987 Olga moves to Bolivia, where she was Cultural Attaché to the Panamanian Embassy. Later she moves to Jakarta, Indonesia, where her two daughters, Natasha and Suzanna, were born. Since 1994 Olga and her family reside again in Panama.

In 1997 the B'nai B'rtih Irving Zapp of Panama gave her the B'nai B'rtih reward for personality of the year. In the same way she received from the Intellectual Group of Women of Panama, CIMIP, the Intellectual Orchid in 1999.

For her cultural contribution to the Panamanian Community - lecturing to public and private schools and universities - the Foundation for Development, ACDE, paid homage to Olga in the year of Panama's Centennial, 2003. From the Glamour magazine she received the Woman of the Year 2004 price, Premium of the Readers. In the same year she also was distinguished by the humanistic foundation Soka Gakkai International of Panama.

Sensitive to the social problems and development in her country, Olga has participated in various foundations and National Committees during the past years. She is a member of the Foundation Development of the Free Citizen; The National Education Counsel; Vital Voices - Panama Chapter; United Nations Development Program (UNDP); Foundation Let Me Be Your Friend for Disabled People; FundaAyuda Foundation,
against breast cancer; and she has been appointed Ambassador of CATHALAC, (Coordinated research on hydrological processes), for whom she designes the Latin-American PLACA prize. Also, in 2007, one of her paintings is printed on the new collection of Isabel Sartorius, in benefit of Global Humanitarian ONG to help poor children.

Since 2000 she has participated in many colective exhibitions and in 2007 she experiments a new face: sculpture, which is inagurated with the exhibition “Es la Pera”. This year she also starts the “Painting with Olga Sinclair” workshops , where she gathers hundreds of children at Urraca park to paint and draw.
